About Dr. Berman
Anna Jean Berman, PsyD
LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST #120657
REGISTERED PLAY THERAPIST: T5388
I believe that the therapeutic process is a collaborative approach: whether it be with individuals, children, or with couples. Because of that, the modalities and techniques I use (CBT, Play Therapy, and EFT) help my client discover their inherent strengths. I help facilitate the growth that I know the client is capable of.
I discovered my love for this helping profession while earning my B.S. in Psychobiology at UCLA. I interned with a world reknown play therapist and saw how each child used their resilience to grow. From there, I earned my Master’s and then Doctorate of Psychology in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Couples and Family Therapy program at Alliant International University. Along the way, I worked towards and became a Registered Play Therapist.
I have experience working with children, adolescents and teens, individuals, couples, and families affected by life transitions, divorce/separation, anxiety, depression, infidelity and/or other relationship issues, stress due to the pandemic, understanding and navigating gender and sexuality changes, academic stress, and social stress.
When I’m not helping others, I can be found helping myself by riding horses, cooking and baking (and eating!), and swimming.
